Cookie Policy

1. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your device when you visit. Similar technologies — including browser local storage, session storage, and tracking pixels — serve comparable purposes. This policy covers all of them. Cookies allow websites to remember information about your visit, such as your language preference or whether you have seen a consent notice, so you do not have to set them repeatedly.

2. Why We Use Cookies

New Energy Works uses cookies to keep the site running correctly, remember your consent preferences, and understand in aggregate how visitors engage with the games. We do not use cookies to build individual user profiles, serve targeted advertising, or track you across unrelated websites. Our use of cookies is minimal by design — the site is a free social arcade, not an advertising platform.

3. Categories of Cookies We Use

The table below lists every category of cookie that may be set on your device when you use new-energy-works.com.

4. Lawful Basis

Our use of cookies is governed by the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). Strictly necessary cookies are set on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a functional website — no consent is required for these. For all other categories (performance, functional, advertising), we set cookies only after you have given your active, informed consent via the cookie banner on your first visit. You may withdraw that consent at any time by using the method described in section 5 below.

5. How to Manage Your Cookies on New Energy Works

When you first visit the site, a cookie-consent banner invites you to "Accept all cookies" or choose "Essential only". Your choice is stored in localStorage.__cc_v1 on your device. To change your preference at any time, clear that key using your browser's developer tools (Application → Local Storage → new-energy-works.com → delete __cc_v1), then reload the page and the banner will reappear.

6. How to Manage Cookies in Your Browser

Every major browser allows you to view, block, and delete cookies. Use the links below to find the instructions for your browser:

Blocking all cookies may prevent some features of the Site from working correctly, though it will not prevent you from playing the games.

7. Third-Party Cookies and Services

The following third parties may set cookies on your device when you use new-energy-works.com and have given consent:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. — CDN, security, and anonymous analytics. Cloudflare processes data under a data processing agreement with us. Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
  • Google LLC — advertising measurement cookies may be present when you arrive via a Google Ads campaign, subject to your consent. Google Cookie Policy.
  • Microsoft Corporation — advertising measurement cookies may be present when you arrive via a Microsoft Advertising campaign, subject to your consent. Microsoft Privacy Statement.

8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

We honour the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser or extension transmits a GPC signal when you visit the Site, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for analytics and advertising cookies, and only strictly necessary cookies will be set. We do not currently implement a technical response to the older Do Not Track (DNT) header, as there is no agreed standard for its interpretation. GPC is the recommended mechanism for expressing this preference and it is fully supported.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will also be noted in the cookie-consent banner on next visit.
