New Energy Works Studios Ltd operates the website at new-energy-works.com. We are a free-to-play social arcade — we do not process payment card data and we do not run real-money games. 2. What Data We Collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
- Usage data: pages visited, game interactions, session duration — collected anonymously via Cloudflare Web Analytics. No personally identifiable information is included in these records.
- Contact data: if you email us or submit the contact form, we retain your name, email address, and message content for up to 24 months to handle your query.
- Technical data: IP address (truncated, not stored in full), browser type, device type, and referral source — logged for security and performance monitoring by Cloudflare for up to 30 days.
- Cookie-consent preference: stored in
localStorage.__cc_v1on your device; never transmitted to our servers. - Age-gate confirmation: stored as a session cookie (
__age_ok) that expires when you close the browser.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect solely to: run and improve the games and website; respond to your support requests; detect and prevent technical abuse; and comply with our legal obligations under UK GDPR and PECR.
We do not use your data for behavioural advertising. We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Lawful Basis
Under UK GDPR, our lawful bases are: legitimate interests for anonymous analytics and security logging (Article 6(1)(f)); and contract performance for responding to support queries you initiate (Article 6(1)(b)). For any cookies beyond strictly necessary, we rely on your consent (Article 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time via the cookie banner or by clearing your browser's storage.

6. Data Retention
Contact enquiry records are kept for up to 24 months, then permanently deleted. Server and analytics logs are retained for no more than 30 days. Cookie-consent choices are stored in your browser and persist until you clear them.
7. Your Rights Under UK GDPR
You have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; request its correction or erasure; object to processing based on legitimate interests; request restriction of processing; and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

8. Third-Party Processors
We use Cloudflare, Inc. as our CDN, DDoS protection, and web analytics provider. Cloudflare processes anonymised traffic data on our behalf under a data processing agreement. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for details. No other third-party processors handle personal data on our behalf.
9. Children
New Energy Works is strictly for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, please contact us immediately and we will delete it without delay.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be noted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
